Hello, thanks for clicking on my website. This podcast is dedicated to my experience in being an independent freelance photographer. I discuss what photography has done for me and what motivates me to do it. I also show some examples of work from my portfolio. The hardest part about making this podcast would be trying to maintain the same voice level after every cut. Sometimes I would find myself speaking too low or too high so editing the levels to match as much as possible was difficult having it be my first time using Audacity. Another hard part would be keeping the video from being blank most of the time so I tried to add media to fill in some gaps as i talked. Hope it's good enough to enjoy! thanks.
Group Project
This project was so unique in my experience with the way that I have never been put in a situation where I had to think like a teacher. Learning what goes on behind the scenes of being an educator really set a perspective about many different things to me personally and my respect to any educator only grew bigger. The group I was put in was hands down the best group I have ever worked with in a project in my entire school career, everyone was very involved and enthusiastic- and we had a variety of zoom meetings for the most efficient method of communication. These people were very open to a variety of ideas and I appreciate that I was able to learn something new while having fun, even if it was a lot of work. After this project, I have gained insights of what it's like to teach, learned new methods of thinking, gained social skills, and because of the awesome people I paired up with there was no type of procrastination. Everyone was so enthusiastic about the project to the extent that it rubbed off on me because I was nervous to learn how to dye and I didn't know what to expect. Overall, the hard work definitely paid off.

BitMoji Classroom
My bitmoji classroom was designed to reflect a teaching lesson in a hypothetical Home Ec class. My favorite class in middle school was Home Ec because i've always enjoyed cooking, in fact the one food we actually baked once was banana muffins which inspired this banana bread lesson. In my bitmoji classroom, I embedded multiple links to help students navigate through their learning experience. The first link is an easily readable recipe for kids - I aim my hypothetical class to be the age of 6-8. Next is a link to a list of cooking supplies which students can study and get familiar with cooking tools and utensils. Then I have a link for parent to purchase a basic kitchen kit for kids, a link to a kids baking competition show for the student to watch and further engage into baking if they'd like, a recipe book for kids, a video on oven safety for kids, and last I have two safety hazard links. One is a direct link to instructions on what to do if a student gets burned and the other is a link to learning safety in the kitchen to avoid any possible injuries which students will examine prior to baking.
3D Animal
For this project I decided to use photoshop's 3D modeling interface. Having used photoshop solely for photography a majority of the time, I have always been intrigued by the 3D feature but intimidated at the same time. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to finally approach this new beast and although it was difficult I would deem it 85% successful. Some main issues I had trouble figuring out were getting certain features of the squirrel to have more dimension as well like the head, ears, and the feet. There was also this middle partition which was difficult to get blended into the model, overall this was another fun project and i’m glad to have finally been able to get my hands onto the 3D modeling part of photoshop.
Animation
I would consider my stop motion project successful in the way I was able to personify the hand-towel and turn it into a character. This short-film was shot with a backbreaking process, I had to bend over for every shot (400 total for ~6hours) and I accomplished every frame completely handheld. Learning how to make a static object have personality and move with realistic patterns made this project unique to me. I learned a lot about patience and stop-motion production. Using imovie made it easier to compile these images versus photoshop and i’m glad to have learned new tools.
Color Theory Quiz
This quiz was fun to make while using photoshop to help out. The quiz is intended for first-second grade students to start learning about mixing paint and what colors they can make rather than what colors they can use. It is supposed to be completed as a class versus individually so that way I as an instructor can explain why an answer can be wrong or right. It was pretty cool to experience being in the educators side and not the student side of a kahoot. This program is fairly easy to use and fair with what it has to offer while keeping it free. You can pay for more features that expand possibilities in educating students which can be useful when applying it to a real world setting. Overall, it was a fun project to make and i'm glad to know what it feels like to make a quiz.
How-To Video
For this how-to video I used my “photoshop” skillset to teach people how to make composites on-the-go. In the process, I had 68 outtakes in attempt to record the video perfectly as I tried to discover what was best - making a voice over after recording the video, making a voice over while recording the video, or narrating the video live while going through the tutorial. After what seemed like hundreds of tries, I finally decided to just switch on to dual live recording - using the screenrecord feature and my phone mic to narrate the video. I began this project at 8pm sharp and ended at 2:30am, having only 1 final cut. Some problems I encountered would be my headset dying when I was doing the voice over method, my microphone dying, my phone dying, people texting me mid recording, my voice cracking after talking for so long, and the videos kept coming out too long because I wanted to go slightly more in depth in order to get the viewer to understand the functions of tools and sub features in the app to make their compositions more creative. Also, I did not find it necessary to add a soundtrack. I feel there are some videos that would be better with a soundtrack and some that don’t, but I don’t know why that is. I tried to add a soundtrack but is sounded out of place and didn’t match with the type of video.
